Here's how I was able to take a picture of this here hummingbird:

I was walking around the house, warming my hands on the old stove while I waltzed around the place humming to myself, having a grand 'ol time. Suddenly I heard a loud THUMP and I turned to the window, already knowing what hit it. It was a bird, of course, but I wasn't expecting it to be a hummingbird. So the poor thing fell to the floor, and one of my grandma's cats immediately jumped down from it's perch and grabbed the bird in it's jaws, and at that point, I was jumping up and down screaming "OMG NOOOOOO!!! DON'T EAT IT YOU STUPID CAT! SPIT IT OUT! SPIT IT OUT NOW!!" at the cat, and in response, dropped it and backed away from me like, "OMFG, I'M SORRY, PLZ DUN HURT MEH. D8". So after freaking out my grandma and my mom ran into the room wondering why I was acting so, and I showed them the poor birdie. 3:
My grandma told me that it would fly away after 15 minutes if we just let it sit there to recover from it's shocking collision. So, we waited, and it finally flew away afterwords. But while it was sitting there in shock, I got the camera and started taking pictures.

I did my good deed by saving a hummingbird's life this weekend, what did you do? =]
