For those who haven't seen it:
I thought the movie was pretty good overall. The CGI was spectacular, and the explosions were amazing. There was a lot of humor in it, but I think it was a little too much of the same humor. Towards the end of the movie, I was starting to force myself to laugh at scenes that were meant to be funny. There is WAY more robot action than in the first movie and the robots actually get to talk a lot more. LOTS of more dialogue between characters, but ONLY certain ones. Which was one of the things that really disappointed me, as there wasn't as much dialogue between the old characters from the first movie. There are a few things from the movie I'd like answered, but for now, I'll just have to deal. They're probably explained in the comics released for the movie, but I don't think it's fair for those who DON'T read the comics to have to go and buy them to figure out what's going on plot-wise. Overall, I'd give this movie a 60% out of a 100% for character development. For CGI 90%, and for story 70%.
If you like lots of things exploding and VERY fast paced scenes, then this is the movie for you.

Alright. Let me just get this out right now. I AM NOT SATISFIED. I'm a really really really big TF fan, but when I left the movie theater I felt a little disappointed. Sure, it was a great movie for those who like nothing but action, but what about those who like drama? In my opinion, I think the first movie surpasses this movie a million times over. Mostly because the first one was really good about the character development, action, and dialogue. And what I mean by dialogue is that whenever a Transformer/Decepticon said ANYTHING, it was always 1) to the point, 2) either cunning or witty (which made it funny), and 3) what the robots said was always important to the plot, or at least in someway related to it.
In this movie, I felt like there was a lack of that. Because of this, I think the Decepticons lacked the "badassery" in this movie. They were more badass in the first movie, in my opinion. The only badass character of the Decepticons (in this movie) was Soundwave. Mostly because he didn't really have that much to say, but he was still to the point (lol). And because of his daunting insect appearance and monotone voice, it added to the effect of being powerful and scary. Which even brought a bigger sense of doom for the human race.
And this brings up another point: The Fallen wasn't scary. I thought he could have been a little more evil, as he didn't really seem frightening. His whole plan to destroy the world though DID bring a sense of dread at times (like there was no hope), but I can't say he SCARED me. I was also expecting more action from The Fallen. It would have been cool to see him travel through different dimensions like the comic books described him as being able to do. All he did was lifted up tanks and military vehicles and teleported from the Nemisis to Egypt. I think Bay could have had more fun with the idea that The Fallen could go into different dimensions, as that would have put a bigger twist on the whole scheme of things. And Megatron was wimpy in this movie as well. It seemed like he lost a lot of "power" because The Fallen was there. In the first movie, Megatron was more scarier and more threatening. In this movie, he was more like a pawn than anything.
And Screamer was a bit irritating. His voice was true to his G1 voice, but it got annoying halfway through the movie. It just didn't seem like that particular voice matched his with body structure. And in the first movie, I think his voice was a little bit deeper. Not so high pitched.
But it sure did make me smile to see some dialogue between him and Megs. That was pretty cool.
I also noticed that a LOT of old scenes from the first movie were used to create this one. That, I think, made the movie a little more sloppy. I also wish there could have been more dialogue with the older and newer Autobot characters. I mean, wtf? I wanted to hear more of Sideswipe, and Arcee got blown to bits at the end of the movie. She couldn't even finish her line! (which is the only line she even says in the entire movie)
Overall, I rate it a 6.5/10. It could have been better.
